An Original Piece by Aliyah Bouziane

I’d like to share my first original work with you, near and dear, full of blood, sweat and tears, this composition was my first dip into composing, it’s called “Lights Requiem.”  A requiem is traditionally known as a song for the masses in the Catholic Church. In this case light, the image of hope and goodness is dying. This is how I imagine a song for a dying light would sound, a burning star, a fire’s last blaze before being put out.

The violin portrays the voice of the light. The violinist in question is my original hand drawn character Adonijah, a Hebrew name meaning “my Lord is Jehovah,” who I envision is playing this piece for the dying light. I hope you enjoy, and all glory to God.
